Top educators in Florida are not using their minds, because they have lost their minds. The Florida State Board of Education has decided to teach students that those held in slavery “developed skills” that provided personal benefits to the slaves. Logic so stunning calls for a comparison with those officials who “developed skills” in dissembling because expertise in deception would be a great, personal benefit. ANYBODY held in slavery would “develop skills” if it meant saving their lives or making sure their loved ones were safe from harm and destitution. The question to be asked is, “What skills would slaveowners develop if they were slaves?” [Writer: Bill Resimont]
